About Me

I received my bachelors degree in psychology in 1982 from Syracuse University. I received my Doctor of psychology (PsyD) degree from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology of Yeshiva University in 1988. I have worked in the mental health field since 1982 in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, day treatment programs, group homes, residential treatment centers, and court based clinics. After receiving the PsyD degree I worked in a day treatment program for young children from 1988 to 1990. Since 1990 I specialized in the field of forensic psychology. From 1990 to 1993 I was a senior psychologist at the Manhattan Family Court Mental Health Services Clinic in New York City. This was a court based forensic clinic where I conducted a forensic psychological assessments in a variety of legal categories, such as juvenile delinquency, child abuse and neglect, and child custody. During that time I also maintained a part-time psychotherapy practice in New York City.

In 1993 I relocated to the Pacific Northwest and established a private practice where I primarily focus on providing forensic and clinical psychological evaluations. I also provide psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults.

My training in psychotherapy has included psychodynamic psychotherapy, family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness-based approaches. As such, my approach to therapy is eclectic and informed by these various schools of thought.

More significantly, I am a Certified Integrative Restoration – iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher. I utilize iRest with both individual clients, groups, and yoga classes.
